If you have ever logged on to your websites statistics page you may have gotten lost in all the numbers. We wanted to share some of the more important numbers that can be found on your websites statistic page and how you can put those numbers to good use.

Total Visits: total visits measures the the amount of visits to your website. This number is important to you because each visit is an opportunity to persuade or convert a customer. Knowing and tracking this number will give you a general idea of how you are improving.

Referral Traffic
: referral traffics records where the visitor clicked to get to your site. This number is important to you because it can tell how your advertising is working. For example if you are running a few different ads on Craigslist this, this stat would let you know how many people clicked through to your website from each of the different ads. Or if you are posting links on Facebook are people actually clicking on them.

Page Entry/Exit: the page entry and exit numbers measure what page the visitors entered your site and what page they exited your site. This number is important because if you can find the page with the highest exit number, this might be a page worth improving on.  If a lot of visitors are leaving a particular page there might not be a strong enough call to action there or important information that they were seeking might be missing.

Duration of Visits: duration of visit breaks down how many visitors stay for various lengths of time; on some website statistics it will also show your average length of stay. This number is important because if you number is pretty low you are not keeping potential visitors on your site long enough to get all the information you have for them. It also mean that you only have that low average number of time to persuade or convert that lead.

While these are just a few of the hundreds of statistics offered by your website, we think these are important yet easy ones to track. Keeping an eye on the numbers in these areas can help you improve your website traffic substantially.
