The best advice JDae Designs has received on business was from our business mentor Craig Zuber, entrepreneur and author,  about creating and constantly reevaluate your business plan.  This was the best advice ever because it is always 110% FREE and EASY!  In our previous post “Are you Ready for 2010 Marketing?” we mentioned coming up with your market plan early to stay ahead of game, but in all actuality this applies to your entire business plan.  Without your business plan how do you know where you are heading? How can you track if your plan is working?  And if you are not reevaluating your plan how can you change it to fit an ever changing market?

So where do you want your business to be going in 2010? What goals do you want to achieve in 2010? What things will help you track and achieve those goals? Sit down today and do this:

  1. Mark your calendar for this Friday “Create 2010 Business Plan”: sit down and hash out all your details for your business on Friday;
  2. Mark your calendar for every quarter “Reevaluate Business Plan”: make any changes you need to make your business more efficient and use your money more effectively.

If you are not sure how to write a business plan, Bplans.com is a great place to begin your research.  You can search your specific industry for real business plans that are already in place and that will give you some inspiration.

Don’t wait any longer.  Be ready and on your toes for 2010.  We would love to see 2010 to be the year of smart and profitable small businesses.
